Start here: the bus station is being rebuilt

Guildford Friary bus station is being refurbished from 1 September 2026. Surrey County Council expects the work to finish in late 2027. While it goes on, some buses leave from different stands and from temporary stops.

According to the county council's notice:

  • The seven stands on Commercial Road are closed in the first phase.
  • Stands 3 to 15 inside the bus station stay in use for now, though some services have moved.
  • There are extra stops on North Street, by and opposite the library.
  • There are temporary stops on Onslow Street, in the bus lane.
  • Pedestrian access to the bus station is kept open.

The arrangements have already changed more than once since September. Before you travel, check the county council's temporary changes page, which links to a map of where to board each service.

Where to find timetables

Surrey County Council lists every service in the area on one page: Guildford, Godalming and Haslemere bus timetables. Each route number links to its timetable. The same page has a PDF map of Guildford bus routes and stops.

Several companies run the buses, including Stagecoach, Safeguard, Compass Bus, Carlone Buses, Falcon Buses, White Bus and Reptons Coaches. Surrey's page links to contact details for each operator.
